Swimming activities are conducted at the ranch ponds, or at the ranch custom swimming pool. Students are supervised by camp counselors trained in CPR and First Aid during swimming activities. There is no certified lifeguard on duty at the camp. Any student roughhousing and/or demonstrating a disregard for safety, whether swimming in ponds or pool, will lose his/her swimming privileges for the rest of the day or revoked for the remainder of the camp.

Drop off time is Sunday at 4:00 PM . Please DO NOT ARRIVE BEFORE 3:45 PM as we use that time to finish setting up for camp. Pick up time is Thursday at 1:30 PM . An awards ceremony will be held at approximately 12:30 PM on Thursday . Parents are invited to attend the awards ceremony but it is not a requirement. The Address is 18875 Red Bank Road in Red Bluff CA 96080 . The ranch is located approximately 5.7 miles west of the Red Bluff airport. There is a wide gravel driveway with a ranch gate that says "Red Bank Ale & Quail" on your left. The cell reception is spotty on the drive out to the ranch so please map your directions before you leave home.

Students are very active during their stay at camp and writing letters or sending postcards is difficult. Don't expect to receive any correspondence from your child. They are having a great time! We discourage mail being sent to students during their short stay with us because we will likely not receive that mail until after the student has left for home. Please do not supply your child with food, chewing gum, candy, etc. for their stay at camp. We provide ample, balanced meals, a light snack, and canteen sessions (see Camp Canteen). If students have food in their cabin, they tend to eat it right before a meal, and uneaten food attracts ants and mice. It can also create hard feelings among the other students and is a headache for the counselors. Please let us know if your student has a food allergy or restricted dietary needs and needs to bring special food items with them to camp.

Chapstick Disposable or WiFi-Free Camera Bag for Dirty Laundry Clothing Tennis Shoes Sandals (It is HOT so these are more comfortable for the classroom, pool time, and evening activities) 1-2 Pairs of Pants 5 Pairs of Shorts (It will be very hot so we recommend a pair of shorts for each day) 5 T-Shirts 5 Pairs of Socks 5 Pairs of Underwear Swim Suit/Shorts 1 Sweatshirt or Light Jacket if weather permits We encourage you to label your student's items that might be easily confused with another student's belongings (hats, water bottles, towels, life jackets, etc.) with their first initial and last name i.e. J. SMITH.

Students are encouraged to bring an inexpensive disposable camera or digital camera (no cell or WIFI connectivity please) to take pictures during camp. Please write the student's name on the camera. Pictures throughout camp will be taken and posted to the RBOA social media accounts (Instagram & Facebook), that will give parents the ability to access and view photos of their child at camp.

Unless otherwise notified, any student who has a birthday while attending camp will be honored with a special birthday treat and birthday wishes from the entire camp.

Q: Hunter Education Class

All Level I students will participate in 3 days of classroom instruction per the California Department of Fish & Wildlife's hunter education requirements. In order for us to administer the final exam and hunter education certificate number, all students must be registered for the hunter education class through the CA DFW's website by 9:45PM the Sunday night of their camp . Hunter education class registration is SEPARATE from summer camp registration. IMPORTANT: All students are required to obtain a California Get Outdoors ID (GO ID) prior to registering for California Hunter Education courses.
